Multipoint Video Conferencing by Meeting Central®
Multipoint Video Conferencing with Meeting Central®
12.9¢ per minute / per person
Meeting Central® offers true multiparty Internet video conferencing as a standard feature, not an add-on. Viewers see smooth, clear, crisp video that works. The implementation is entirely in software, and requires only standard USB video conferencing cameras. The user experience rivals that of video conferencing hardware costing tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars. To help you effectively manage bandwidth, you can click on any video display and change the size, quality and frame rate - all in real time.
State of the art software allows the meeting host to change video settings during the conference. The software preserves connections by preventing video settings higher than the bandwidth permits (by monitoring bandwidth and adapting intelligently).
Meeting Central® does not use peer-to-peer or broadcasting technology, which often fail in corporate and government networks due to firewall, proxy and private routing limitations. The entire video conferencing session sends all traffic via the Meeting Central® server. Since this server is at a fixed IP address, and uses port 80 and http, it achieves high levels of proxy and firewall compatibility. As a bonus, it also provides the foundation for multiparty desktop video conferencing!
The host can manage all aspects of the video session, including size, quality (low, medium, high) and frame rate (1-30 frames per second), and can change these settings at any user end-point in real time.

- This is not point-to-point - this is true Multiparty Video conferencing
- MPEG4 industry standard codec, plus high-speed proprietary codec
- Host can manage all end-point (video origination) settings (size, quality and frame rate)
- Host can force Participant PC's to display the video ("Show") or allow participants to choose to display video
- Use tabs to arrange video dialog boxes to your viewing preferences
Use Multiparty Video to:
- Bring together multiple rooms full of people, along with their visual aids
- Show multiple site options for a special event to your event planners
- Tour multiple properties at once with your realtors or partners
- Hold participatory trainings with multiple franchises at once
- Introduce International business associates to one another
- Inspect equipment, properties or security at multiple locations
- Much more!

Other Video Conferencing Cameras & Specialty Devices
In general, Meeting Central® can use any video source with a Windows DirectX/DirectShow device driver, v9.0 or later. If you can "see" your video device with the Windows scanner and camera test wizard, Meeting Central® can select the camera, and you can use it during your next conference. You can even have multiple Windows video devices, and change from one to the other during your conference!
We often get questions about specialty video equipment, such as: Can I use my video camera? My medical video device? My existing conference room camera? And so on. Most often, the answer is yes. Many of these devices output standard video (S-Video Out). Standard video is easily input to a Windows PC using a USB converter or a PC video capture card. These adapters (and DirectShow device driver) convert S-Video to a format that the Windows operating system and e/pop software can use.
Video to USB Converter
There are many popular sources of video-to-USB adaptors, including USB Gear and others. For best results, be sure to select a USB 2.0 device. Also note that most USB converters have a maximum of 352 x 288 pixels (or 320x240) video capture quality limitation. If you want to achieve 640x480, 30 fps (full motion video), consider a PC video capture card (below).
PC Video Capture Card
There are many popular sources of video capture cards. A PCI bus adapter card, with Windows DirectShow device driver typically provides the best performance and the least load on the CPU, and avoids the USB 1.0/2.0, and half/full-screen limitations of USB converters mentioned above. We suggest using the Osprey-210 Analog Capture Card or better with whatever video camera your company uses.
